A Sonic-Themed Playground opens in Brazil

Lookout, Super Nintendo World! Sonic’s got his own themed land too! Albeit much, much smaller, and inside a mall.

Badnik Mechanic’s youtube page has reported on a Sonic-themed playground inside the Vila Vella shopping mall in Brazil. The playground has rings to jump through slides, checkered tubes, obstacle courses, and more, all with a Sonic theme around it. It uses a Green Hill background and cardboard cutouts of Sonic, Eggman, and Tails from different eras. Whether this playground has Sega’s blessing or not remains to be seen.

  1. Oh, I’ve been to the city of Vila Velha a couple of years ago and I went to a mall. I wonder if it was that one… That’s actually cool! If it weren’t for the pandemics, I might actually try and go there just to check it out, hahahaha! Sonic was quite popular here in Brazil back in the 90’s. Now, after the Sonic Boom cartoon show and, of course, the movie, he seems to be getting popular amongst kids again. I was in a video conference one of these days and my boss’s son got very excited when he saw the picture I have of Sonic in my office. He’s six years old and, suddenly, I felt I had more in common with that kid than with my colleague hahahahaha!

  2. I dunno if this is such a hot time to launch playground in a mall. What about the novel coronavirus pandemic?
