SAGE 2020 is just a few months away, and it’s time for creators to submit their fan games. The SAGE team have officially released this year’s deadlines and guidelines for the event. Compared to last year, there have been some changes, especially in regards to the method of submitting your project.
One notable change to submissions is that it is now mandatory to make use of Sonic Fan Games HQ’s Showcase to send your fan games, instead of email. This is so it’s easier to find and archive. Your fan game will not be accepted for SAGE if you submit via their email, so keep that in mind.
Likewise, there has been an increasing emphasis on hosting your fan games on SFGHQ itself. However, if there’s a problem, such as the game file being too large, you can still use an alternative hosting method if something comes up. Please note that, if you do this, the submission must be easily accessible. As for the file size, you must upload it to SFGHQ’s site if it is 500MB or less.
All submissions must be entered by August 21st. If you have any questions or concerns, the team recommends you go to the SFGHQ Discord and contact them there. There’s plenty of more announcements to come, and SAGE 2020 takes place from September 5th to 12th, so please stay tuned as our coverage of the event continues!
