“The Genesis is Back!” SEGA Genesis Mini Launches with a Sizzlin’ Trailer

The wait is finally over! The highly anticipated mini console is now available for purchase in the North American region. Here’s some information on where you can get your hands on it, and what games are inside!

This year is the Genesis’ 30th anniversary, and SEGA’s pulling out all the stops with this nostalgic plug ‘n play console. For $79.99 US Dollars ($99.99 in Canadian Dollars), SEGA fans old and new can enjoy a huge library of over 40 16-bit classics right out of the box! It’s currently available in US markets at Wal-Mart, Amazon, Game Stop and Best Buy. Canadian markets include VGP, EB Games, The Source and Amazon.

The usual suspects like Sonic the Hedgehog, Streets of Rage, Columns and Altered Beast are present, but a few come out of left field, like Disney’s Castle of Illusions, Castlevania Bloodlines, Mega Man The Wily Wars and even Tetris! 1. Despite the lack of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, this is the most impressive lineup for a SEGA Genesis Collection since Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection.
