Yuji Naka, Naoto Ohshima, and Hirokazu Yasuhara Respond to Sonic Movie’s Design Change

Over the past week, the internet has been all a buzz over the first trailer for the upcoming Sonic movie. Well three people in particular have offered some words regarding the film, all of which Sonic fans should recognize.

Those three are the three main fathers of Sonic himself; Yuji Naka, Naoto Ohshima, and Hirokazu Yasuhara. Each have since left Sega from as early as the Dreamcast days to work at new companies.

First, we should bring up that Jeff Fowler (director of the movie) himself tweeted that Sonic’s design will be tweaked in some fashion after the (not exactly minor) criticism. This is one of the main things that two of Sonic’s creators commented on.

First is Yuji Naka with the following response:

Finally we have Naoto Ohshima, who specifically designed Sonic and Eggman’s original designs, offer his own comment about the movie in general, while also providing his own drawing of the movie design:
