UK Community Streamers Raise Over $650 for Special Effect

It’s always great to see the Sonic community come together to raise money for charity – we often see blue blur fans livestream their gameplay for fundraising purposes. This weekend, a couple of Brits made the effort to help support UK-based charity Special Effect, and ended up smashing their target by raising over $650.

Our good pals TheBritishAndy (who lives in Canada now) and TitansCreed held ‘Race for Good’ on Saturday night, which saw them speed through several Sonic the Hedgehog games to celebrate the franchise’s anniversary and to see how much money they could raise for Special Effect. The UK charity helps develop accessible gaming peripherals for people with physical disabilities, so it’s a stunningly good cause.

The target was $500 for the event, but thanks to the kind generosity of those watching, the pair managed to raise (at time of going to press) $657.40. Great job guys! You can find the full recording of the event below, embedded, and check out the fundraiser page here.
