Sonic Mania Collector’s Edition & vinyl soundtrack back in stock; new t-shirts

Sonic Mania is out now on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and set to release on Tuesday 29^th August on Windows PC. Here’s all you need to know about getting a hold of the game on your system of choice, and all the merch we know of!

Sonic Mania Collector’s Edition

• The Collector’s Edition is available for the Switch, Xbox and PlayStation versions of the game. It features a 12-inch statue of Sonic standing on a Sega Mega Drive, a “cartridge” box with gold ring inside, and a metallic collector’s card containing the digital game code.
• The CE is currently available at Amazon for all console versions, priced at £79.99 (UK), and around $70 (US). It sold out quickly when first available late last year, so might do so again this time.
• It’s also available online at Walmart in the US, at around $70 (Switch, Xbox, PlayStation). The apparent shipping date is in late September, however.
• While officially sold out on Amazon Canada, some independent sellers are offering (with a markup, of course!) the Collector’s Edition.
• Some copies have also been made available to Best Buy and Gamestop physical stores in the US.
• Amazon in Europe: France: €89.99 (Switch), Spain: €89.99 (XB1/PS4), Italy: €89.99 (all), Germany: Sold out.

T-Shirts

• There are a host of Sonic Mania t-shirts available, at a price of £11.99-£14.99 (UK) $24.99 (US) each.

Soundtracks

• The official vinyl soundtrack for Sonic Mania is being produced by Data Discs, at a price of £19.99. The transparent blue version is newly available to preorder for delivery in October. The black version is sold out but may have a second pressing in the future, and the limited edition paint spatter version is sold out for good.
• An official CD soundtrack is expected, but has not been confirmed at the time of writing.

Windows PC

• The Windows version releases two weeks after the console versions, on Tuesday 29^th August. It’s a digital release on Steam, with a post-release price of £14.99 (UK), $19.99 (US).
• Mania isn’t a particularly demanding game – the minimum specs are a Pentium 4, 2 GiB of RAM, a DirectX 9.0-compatible graphics card, and 400 MB of storage, all of which should be no problem for most users.
• Steam currently has a preorder discount of 10%, making its prices £13.49 (UK), $17.99 (US).

Nintendo Switch

• The Switch version released on Tuesday 15^th August. It’s a digital release through the Nintendo eShop – a physical release is rumoured, but not confirmed at the time of writing. It’s £16.99 (UK), $19.99 (US), and has a 195 MB download.

PlayStation 4

• The PlayStation version also released on Tuesday 15^th August. It’s also a digital release on the PlayStation Store, with no physical release planned. It’s £15.99 (UK), $19.99 (US).
• The preorder bonus was 6 Sonic Mania Avatars and 3 Themes, which are also available to purchase if you’ve bought the game after release.

Xbox One

• The Xbox version also released on Tuesday 15^th August, is a digital release on the Xbox Games Store, and has no physical version planned. It’s £15.99 (UK), $19.99 (US), and has a 109 MB download.
