Three New Sonic Books to Be Released in 2018

Penguin Random House have put up entries for three new Sonic books to come out in early 2018.

Welcome to the World of Sonic is an introductory handbook for kids unfamiliar with the series, as it covers the characters and some key moments from the series. It also appears to have a set of stickers with it, although it doesn’t appear to be a sticker book so it’s unknown how many it will have.

  1. 1. regurgitated garbage with mildly interesting descriptions of said regurgitations (also comes with stock art printed on sticky paper)

    2. “lol random XD” but with sonic slapped onto it because why not

    3. the only one that sounds interesting

  2. Tales of Deception sounds the most interesting of the bunch since it would include a story written outside of Archie or IDW. Will probably check it out just out of curiosity.

  3. Reading this has made me want to find my old Sonic novels from 1993 again. I think there were 4 of them?? There was a cool bit where there was an image of Sonic in the top right-hand corner of each page and when you flick through it, it looks like he’s running. Quite novel (hoho).

    1. The four Virgin novels;
      Sonic In Robotnik’s laboratory
      Sonic and the Silicon Warriors
      Sonic in Castle Robotnik
      Sonic in the fourth Dimension

      Enjoyed all four of them, after seeing them advertised in STC.

  4. they’re gotta work on not using stock CG art but mad libs sounds entertaining. if they appear in The Works or Waterstones, i’ll have a look through.

  5. It’s somehow really hard for me to find Sonic merch. Even online. I hope I’ll manage to.
