You thought the crazy Hello Kitty x Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration would stop at those adorable plush toys? Think again, because Sanrio’s mascots are back in SEGA’s world to cameo in Hardlight Studio’s Sonic Dash mobile game.
During the month of December, players of Sonic Dash on mobile will be able to play to unlock – and assumedly keep – a range of Hello Kitty universe characters. Once unlocked, you can play the endless runner as these cutesy heroes.
Each character will be available for a limited time only, and every week the reward will change. Between December 1 – 7, you’ll be able to unlock My Melody. From December 8 – 14 you can play for Chococat. The week after, December 15 – 21, will feature Badtz-Maru as the unlockable, and in the week of Christmas – December 22 – 31 – Hello Kitty herself will be up for grabs.

So far, I’ve unlocked Melody. Getting Chococat and Badtz-Maru and Hello Kitty the following weeks will probably make up for me missing out on the rest of Angry Birds Epic’s promotion. I only have Red of that bunch.
Hello Kitty also had an animated show during the 1980s in America: Hello Kitty’s Furry Tale Theater. Each episode is a different take on beloved stories be it movie or book-based. My niece used to watch it on Netflix, when it was on there. Now it’s on Hulu.
Looks like I’m too late for Melody, but not to late for Chococat, and that’s the cutest one.
