    1. I also have to admit that some of those remixes were pretty impressive. It is also very nice of them to do the U.S. soundtrack too.

    2. I remember seeing some fan art in an old UK Sega mag (one of the more sarcastically written ones) where the probably very young)artist had drawn Sonic in front of the SAGE logo. Yup. SAGE.

Let’s just say the editors response was a bit mean.

  1. I’m very excited for this. Can’t say I’m a fan of that “You Can D Anything” cover, something about it seems off… But nearly every other song sounds great (especially that Sonic Boom and Quartz Quandant mix.)

Might as well check out that Kirby one while I wait.

    1. I never found the original “You Can Do Anything” catchy or good to listen to.. I dunno why but it sounded like shit in my ears. This cover, from what I hear in this preview, is the one that stands out the most and I think I’m gonna fall in love with this slower-paced version.
But hey, you know what they say, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

  2. Ehhhhh…..really not interested in this one. I think there are only some good tracks, though…but when the Toot Toot Sonic Warrior remix started they made it sound sad. Teeth grindingly sad. it’s sooooooo slloooooowowwwwwwwwwwwww
it sounds like someone just cut the track, slowed it down 35x and did the vocals there.

i don’t like some of the ones i heard. But don’t get me wrong, there were a couple of good ones in there. I’m so glad the American Soundtrack of Sonic CD is getting some credit, though.

  3. I wasn’t really feeling it. OCRemix has started to slide in terms of quality in recent years, which upsets me seeing as some of the best Sonic music composers out there have had brilliant work denied by OCRemix due to quality issues.

  4. As with…heck, just about all OCRemix albums, it’d be much, much better without the vocal songs. The compositions themselves are great, but bless their hearts, most of the lyrics and vocals are subpar at best.

    1. You summed up my feelings perfectly. The vocal tracks on the recent Kirby album were mind-blowingly terrible, and these ones don’t sound much better.

  5. On a more serious note, I understand that a fair bunch of you guys may not be so keen on the vocal components. One thing I suggested to SuperiorX right at the start, and he had indeed been perfectly okay with this, is to release alternative instrumental versions as well. So if you’re not too keen on the vocals, I am sure we will have this covered 🙂

  6. Wow… Never thought I’d say this about an OCRemix album, but… This isn’t that great. I’m not just talking about the vocal tracks either, the soundtrack as a whole just feels… Bad, for lack of a better term. They don’t sound nearly as professional as past albums.

Of course, it’s too early to make a final verdict at this point, but still… Bleh.

  7. Oh I can’t wait for this. I guess I should find me a Future sign quickly!
When this user hits 88 MPH, you’ll listen to some serious shit.

  8. Why oh why do I have a feeling that Taxman is going to a V2 of Sonic CD to include these awesome sounds. Wacky Workbench US sounds like it was best suited for Rush/Rush Adventure.

  9. Some of them good, some of them meh. The rock version of Sonic Boom sounds weird, like one of those songs you know should be really, really good, but some of the notes are in the wrong place or something, LoL.

I’m liking the Sax solo at the end.

  10. That Metallic Madness JP remix…Feels like it’s mostly a Bad Future remix.

And I LOVE it for that. I’ve been waiting for YEARS for a proper remix of that track! FINALLY someone wasn’t too scared to try it!

  11. WOW….

    JUST WOW!

I’m greatly disappointed… Sonic CD, being my first ever Sonic game I’ve played and my most favorite with the best (IMO) soundtrack made… only to be butchered by horrible vocals and non-vocals… the non-vocal remixes was hard to figure out if it was the same song I remembered.
I was, for the first time, excited that OC Remix was going to remix the soundtrack since some or even few of their works was ok. I was hoping something better but all I hear are really bad rap songs and messy music.

I’ll try out the soundtrack and hopefully find a remix that’s good. I’m nervous about the Collision Chaos good future from the US soundtrack. We’ll see what is the outcome.

    1. I actually liked your remix, Rexy. Nice and relaxing. Does the original justice.

Most of the other remixes in the Japanese half are a little bit meh. Although I kind of like Metallic Madness JP. Its got a nice 90’s dance vibe going on there.

To be honest, there aren’t many remixes here that are flat out awful. Just not many that really stand out.

  12. I liked the US remixes better. Ironic, considering I have a slight preference for the Japanese soundtrack. The vocals in the covers of the Japanese songs were laughably bad.

    Just my opinion, I guess.

  13. The list below are the remixes I found to be noteworthy. To me, the rest are in need of improvement. The order is only partially relevant to how much I actually enjoyed the music. Keep the tunes coming everyone, and good work! ^^

Stardust Speedway US – King Tiger (Fantastic remix—makes me feel like a kid. Ambient and playful all simultaneously)

Palmtree Panic JP – SuperiorX (Charming remix with spacey instruments, all the while holding true to the original)

Special Stage – Arceace (This isn’t really mellow by my weird definition, it’s ambient. One of the best in the album so far)

Wacky Workbench US – PROTODOME (It doesn’t sound anything like Wacky Workbench to me… but it’s not bad)

Tidal Tempest JP – Rexy (Great track. A bit on the mellow side, I’d really enjoy this on one of my lazy days)

Quartz Quadrant – G-Mixer (Enjoyable for a playlist, but I was never really a fan of the original so I’m a bit biased)

Palmtree Panic US – Amphibious (Also quite enjoyable, but a little too mellow for my tastes)

  14. What the fuck is wrong with you guys?

That Sonic Boom cover is the raddest fucking thing ever. In fact, some of this might just be more smooth RnB than I bargained for from the original music. So smooth, and that Wacky Workbench U.S. took me through a tailspin when I expected hard funk and got Sonic Rush’d. Sounded real good. Only thing that rubbed me wrong was the vocals in Stardust Speedway JP, Believe in Yourself and Metallic Madness U.S.’s preview. But, that last one is mainly because they got that tone SO RIGHT but the tune itself in that portion doesn’t sound like the original.

This is mostly audial sex. Like that Tidal Tempest remix Rexy keeps trying to get you guys to focus on.

This could be the best Sonic album from OCRemix since Project Chaos. This seems to actually get what the tunes sound like and do something great with them.

  15. Haters gonna hate. 😀 😀 😀 😀

Glad to see more people are looking forward to the album than dissing on WIPs, though.

  16. Hey guys. Glad to see some of you guys are enjoying the taste we have on offer. These are all still a ways from the final mixes, so your criticisms will be taken into account. However, some people will just have to understand that not every mix is directly made for your enjoyment. Some people made mixes in very different genres, which I’m glad for. It adds diversity.
I think everyone has done an excellent job on this album thus far, and I’m proud to have been a part of it. 🙂
