Tails Adventure and Crystal Warriors Rated in Australia

Tails Adventure Game Gear Box Art

Tails Adventure could be on its way to the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console, if a rating made by the Australian Ratings Board is any indication. The Game Gear game, one of two titles Tails stars in on the platform, was rated March 4th with SEGA Europe as publisher, suggesting the game could be on its way to Australia and Europe soon. RPG game Crystal Warriors, released recently in Japan, has also been rated.

We’ll keep an eye out for further developments.

  1. That’s awesome! I have Tails Adventure as part of Sonic Gems Collecion on GC, but I personally would love to have it on my 3DS. I’m wondering though; if it comes out in Europe, does that mean a U.S. release as well? Sonic Labyrinth and Sonic Blast were announced and put on the eShop as “coming soon” ages ago, and we have yet to see them in the states. The only Sonic game on there currently is Triple Trouble, and while I’ve heard Blast isn’t that great, I want to buy it, being one of only three Sonic games that I haven’t played (not including the more obscure titles).
Regardless, I enjoy Tails Adventure the most of any Sonic GG title, so keeping my fingers crossed

    1. I know right! I have had sonic blast on my wishlist for the 3DS e-shop for nearly a year now and it still says “Coming soon to Nintendo e-shop!” The weird thing is that it was planned to be released last summer while being part of an event called “8-bit Summer”. Anyways as I write this, it still says “Coming soon to Nintendo e-shop!” so I doubt Tails Adventure will make it to the US Nintendo e-shop for 3DS, but I guess we will have to wait and see. Yet still, can anybody tell me why sonic blast is being delayed?

      1. I completely forgot about the “8-Bit summer” event; Blast was actually included in the video where Nintendo showed all of the games to be released, if memory serves me right. And I believe then it was listed for Fall 2012, but again never came out. It sucks; I like Triple Trouble, but I wish the lesser known games, like Blast and Tails Adventure, would be released in the states. I mean, enough people would buy these that it would be profitable to Sega, I think.

        1. Thank goodness there is somebody else who remembers! The only reason why I want sonic blast is because it is the only Game Gear Sonic game I haven’t played yet because it was never featured in any of those game cube special thingamajigs. Plus, I heard that game was the best game in physics for the GG even though it looked strange. Perhaps it is never coming, but if it does come than we will know. Although, this doesn’t make things look good for Tails’ Adventure. 🙁

          1. See that’s why I want it; Sonic blast, SegaSonic the Hedgehog arcade and Sonic Free Riders are the only 3 Sonic games that I’ve never played in one form or another (besides games like Sonic Erasor, Waku Waku Patrol, Game World, etc.) I literally checked while typing this, and the release date is still to be determined.. tomorrow I’ll try to ask Sega through Twitter; usually during Free Stuff Friday, they answer questions that fans ask. They probably won’t answer, but it’s worth a try.

          2. It is worth a try indeed. I am sure this question will stand out a little more over the rest. Give it all you got. 😉

  2. Ugh… Tails Adventure. XP

I’m sorry, but as much as I like Tails, I didn’t care for either of his Game Gear spin-offs. I found Adventure quite clunky, and Skypatrol… well, just cheap. I appreciate Sega giving Tails some time in the spotlight, but these titles just didn’t do it for me.

      1. If I thought the game was good, I wouldn’t be hating. XD

I like Tails. I really do. I wish he was more prominently featured in more games, but I don’t really like the Tails GG duology. That’s just how I feel.

  3. I quite like Tails Adventure actually. Pretty much Tails in a Metroidvania type game. I mean, it’s no where near the quality of any Metroid game, but it’s pretty fun.

  4. Best Sonic game ever, the only one not designed for 5 year olds with short intention spans.

Metroidvania games are the best 2D platformers.

  5. So… am I the only one who actually kinda likes Tails Adventure? Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t great, but I thought it was pretty good. I kinda like the exploration factor it has, and I like its overall atmosphere really. Though I will say some items don’t do jack shit, it’s pretty slow going at first, and the screen is zoomed in more than Mega Man & Bass…. But overall, an underrated Game Gear game. When people think of Tails spinoffs, they think of dog shit… But personally, I’d only apply that term to Tails Skypatrol. This game really isn’t so bad to me… it just requires some patience.
