Wondering if Sonic Generations will be getting an original soundtrack release? Well, wonder no more. The game will be getting not 1, but 2 original soundtrack CD releases. Both are titled History of the 1st Stage, and one will cover the PS3/Xbox 360 version of the game (White Edition), the other will contain tracks from the 3DS version (Blue Edition). No word on the track lists yet, but we’ll let you know when they’re revealed.
Both CD’s are planned for a December 8th release in Japan alongside the game’s release. You can pre-order them over at Amazon Japan at the below links. The White Edition will be bundled with PS3 and Xbox 360 copies of Sonic Generations (thanks CyberLink420) and will set you back ￥ 6,230, while the Blue Edition, which isn’t bundled, costs just ￥ 4,445.

There’s two listings because they come packaged with those versions of the game, while the blue version is unpackaged.

I use CD Japan for Japanese imports. Give them a try.
I usually do, but they don’t seem to have this up for preorder yet. I’m just impatient. ;P
I use either CD Japan or YesAsia.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they have a way to get these in the US like they did with Colors soundtrack. They might make them on itunes or something. I’d still get the CD for big time collector purposes.

If Colors came to the iTunes in the U.S. Then, I highly beleive this will too…so yay!

If this is anything like Colors was last year, it’ll probably end up on iTunes shortly after it’s released in Japan.

History of the First Stage? Incredibly stupid name, unless i’m missing something here.
And, I’m assuming Blue version is the 3DS Soundtrack and the White version is the PS3/X360 soundtrack?
If so, PS3 one for me, just for the 2 Escape the City remixes.

So yeah History of 1st stage is nice but I expected something like The Best of or something.
You mean like True Blue: The Best of Sonic the Hedgehog, or True Colors: The Best of Sonic the Hedgehog Part 2? I think we should lay off of the ‘best of’ thing for a while.
“Best of” implies that it’s just a collection of existing songs, rather than the soundtrack to a new game. I don’t think that would be a good idea.
Should of just called it “Through The Generations”
Why? I’m really getting tired of the Japan-only items, importing is too expensive.
