The Sonic Stadium Featured On 1UP

As I prepare for TSS’ 10th Anniversary (24th October), it’s always nice to see other people celebrate the length of our existence too. Surprisingly enough, one of those outlets happened to be a major gaming website. The latest in 1UP’s Fan’s View series focused on long-standing gaming fansites, and yours truly was asked to represent the Sonic side of things.

Naturally, I jumped at the chance to answer questions about The Sonic Stadium, and you can read up on what I said – and look at other cool fansites for other franchises that have stood the test of time – by clicking here. And any new readers of TSS that has come directly from 1UP – let me be the first to welcome you to the site.

1UP’s article is a great showcase of the long-term dedication I and my Super Mario, Final Fantasy and Mega Man peers have made to what started off as little websites that could. And did. And websites like The Mushroom Kingdom or MegaManiacs may agree with me when I say that the strength of the fan community not only help our sites flourish, but is the best way in supporting the franchises you love.

The Sonic Stadium may link to retailers and earn a small commission on purchases made from users who click those links. These links will only appear in articles related to the product, in an unobtrusive manner, and do not influence our editorial decisions in any way.

  1. Its great that the community has been around this long, I’ve been a part of various fan communities over the years from sonic to dbz to mario to mega man and I gotta say THIS is it! This is where its at man, fan communities are the best communities in the world because everyones friends with each other, yeah there’s some douchebags, but there’s more good people than douchebags.
k now that I said that, time for a mcgriddle

  2. It certainly is one resiliant site being the progenitor of Summer of Sonic, and surviving the catastrophic death of the original forum last year; just goes to show how much love really is put into the site, and I’m pleased to be so involved with it. I think it’s fantastic this site maintains such good rapport with so many other fansites too.

  3. Sweet as dude. It’s been a wild ride ain’t it over the many years maintaining TSS and it’s network. It is truly amazing to see how far it’s come in terms of it’s ‘journey’ from scratch… And like T-Bird says, there’s a lot of love put into this site and it really shows from the feedback you get not just from the thousands of fans but also credible sources like (in this case) 1UP.

I’m also very please to involved in the extended community activities (Sonic Site Awards, SOS, SSR etc…) that spawned from TSS over the years and because of your dedication, creativity and initiatives I’ve been able to experience things that not even a Sonic fan could imagine.

I truly hope that many prospect visitors and long time fans who come visit this place every now and again will think twice and not take your site (and it’s ‘services’ and the ‘people’ who run these services) for granted.

  4. Great news, this site really is an awesome and dedicated fansite that I visit almost everyday. I always recommend it to my fellow fans when I have a chance.

  5. Dude the three top best games to me are starfox, sonic, and grand theft auto. I hope to see new sonic game soon.
