American third-party publisher THQ has announced a partnership with SEGA that will see it co-publish six SEGA-developed and ten co-developed Game Boy Advance games throughout 2001, 2002 and 2003, including Sonic Advance.
IGN reports that the agreement, only applicable to the West, allows SEGA to use THQ’s strengths in the portably gaming market to ‘ensure concurrent release [of their handheld products] with SEGA’s major platform titles’. The six games that will be co-published are Columns Crown, Puyo Pop, The House of the Dead Pinball, SEGA Smash Pack, a Major League Baseball licensed game, and Sonic Advance.
Outside of these six games – and the unannounced ten titles that THQ is co-developing – SEGA added that it retains the rights to publish its own titles on any platform.
