After revealing Wii gameplay for the first time in their last trailer, SEGA have revealed a new gameplay trailer for the DS version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. The trailer is titled Snow Sports so of course showcases skiing and snowboarding events. Fans who visited Summer of Sonic this year won’t see anything new gameplay wise in this trailer as they are the same few events from that demo.
Some cool new art for Tails and Luigi is shown in this trailer too.
Stay tuned to TSS for more coverage of the game as we approach it’s European release October 16th and U.S. release October 13.
Not bad, not bad at all. Looks pretty good for a DS game too. Never got to play the first one so I’ve no idea how this looks in comparison.
I had the first game but it was the reason I had to sell my DS.

yay, new Tails and Luigi Artwork. I love the artwork they produce for these games. Anyone know where to find the Daisy and Bowser artwork for this game? Its on the official site, but I can’t find it anywhere else.
One thing about that trailer really bugged the hell out of me. Whenever there was a closeup of the touch screen, it was almost always of a Mario characters gameplay they’d show, (‘cept for the that one part with Amy and Metal Sonic). Seriously, it’s like Nintendo saying “Hah!! Were having Mario’s name first in the title, and were mainly gonna showcase our Mario characters in all the trailers, because we’re WAAAAAY better than you, SEGA. You fucking suck, Sonic sucks, and you know it!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!11”
(Did it also ever occur to anybody that all the Dream events in M&S 1 where all based on Mario levels? As far as I could see, there was nothing even remotly Sonic related about the dream levels. It’s like “This is OUR world!! Your just dropping by” thank god the dream events in M&S 2 have Sonic related locations this time)
To be honest, I’m just not really interested in Mario-Sonic collabs any more: the first game was pointlessly boring, lost its appeal a week after I bought it, AND the bastard thing broke my stylus (though that was really down to me being a little too enthusiastic with the swimming event)! No good… no bloody good at all.
What it is makes anybody think that the sequel is going to be somehow “better” is completely unfathomable…

I thought I was the only one who noticed the non-Sonic, all-Mario Dream Events in S&M1! (Yes, I called it S&M, not M&S!)
Also notice that in the original M&S, All in game text was Mario text.
And this video makes the game look like Donkey Kong at the Olympic Winter Games!
@Exacticus: The added depth that they’ve given too it by including different modes 9RPG mode festivel mode etc), better dream events and different and more unique ways to play as evidenced by gameplay trailers. That and it multiplayer value. I understand as far as single player exepriences go on it getting ‘old’ after a while, but that logic couldreally apply too practically all of the multiplayer wii games on the Wii.
@DarkShadow: I think that it’s yet more family-orentated trash spewing from Nintendo’s shithole, and nothing will change that; unless I see actual PROOF that this is not even more run-of-the-mill tripe, then I will remain sceptical. New characters? Pah! Shadow will STILL be the only one worth playing as, even if there is going to be Metal Sonic in the game.

Oh, except for the robots from Sonic Heroes in the dream race, that was the ONLY Sonic related thing I saw in S&M 1 (Yup, jumping on SuperSonic7’s bandwagon)

I think the olympic games is just a bunch of mini games, which is really the only reason I hesitate (?) at the thought of getting the game. As for the Winter games, it looks to be more than that, so I’m a little excited. I also can’t figure out why your bagging on this game and article, just don’t read the articles concerning the game if you really hate it that much. Especially with the revealing of project “Needlemouse.”

Nintendo could be doing the programing for the game, maybe it could be Nintendo saying

I just can’t help but notice how people are noticing how there was more Mario than Sonic elements in the first, saying that it’s Nintendo’s fault when Sega’s name is everywhere on it 1 & 2. I never played the first because, again, I hesitate (?) at the thought of buying or renting the game considering that it’s, more or less, a bunch of mini games. So I wouldn’t notice, other than the lettering.
I got play sonic and mario(what the title should be) at this years SOS. Getting to play radical highway with sonic was pretty cool. This game shouldn’t be too bad if they have some more sonic levels in the final version. On an unrelated topic anyone who wants some sonic merchandise should check out toysnjoys.com.
