SEGA have updated the official site for Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. Among the new updates you can find the E3 ’09 trailer that reveals Donkey Kong and Metal Sonic as playable characters aswell as Tails cheating on the ski jump.

You can also find new screens for both Wii and DS formats, character artwork, info on events and character stats for 10 of the characters which oddly reveal Donkey Kong to have higher speed than both Sonic and Metal Sonic.

The site promises More coming soon’ and now displays a release month of October 2009.

  1. Not amazed that DK is in there since he was mostly finished in the previous game. I wouldn’t be surprised if any or all of the unfinished characters in the previous will be taken into the new one (especially Silver) .

  2. I saw the video on the Nintendo Channel yesterday. Still don’t know if I want to get it.

  3. I have a hypothesis. Purple toad was the camera man in this new video. In the previous game, koopa troopa was the cameraman, thus hinting that Koopa Troopa might be a new playable character. Why are Shadow and Luigi always together? In the first Games opening video and in this one, we see Shadow competing with Luigi. Is it because Shadow is just like Sonic and Luigi is just like Mario?

  4. I`m mostly happy about the DS version because Mario & Sonic are working together for once (besides the co-op events in the past game & Subspace Emissary in Brawl)

  5. Metal sonic…. YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH
now if the tails doll would come also then…
ahh and DK, was clear to come pretty cool
    Hopes are growing again!

  6. @humblefellow – he runs on batteries. Rechargeables no less. 😀

@sonictoast – I think there were multiple camermen, just like there were mulitple judges in M&SatOG.
