There was a time when the uttering of Sonic and Mario in the same sentence would only be used in the context of one of the many fanboy riots that took place on school playgrounds during the early 1990’s. These days, it’s no longer the case – since SEGA hopped off the hardware platform and bounced to the third party column, they’ve been quite friendly to their old rivals.
Sonic Channel recieved various updates in the past week, including a special Sonic T-Shirt designed by Yuji Naka himself. Naka was one of many developers who created their own special Mario T-Shirt design, to commemorate the portly plumber’s 20th Anniversary.
You can see all the commotion at the Sonic Channel, or go straight to the Mario T-Shirt website and look for yourself. T-Shirts are around the region of £20-25, though, so be careful when using daddy’s credit card.
As we published this article, the Sonic T-Shirt – which features Sonic posing with Mario’s classic hat on – was already sold out. No word on whether stocks will replenish, so keep your eyes peeled on the website.
Thanks to SuperDragon on the SSMB for the heads up.
