Knuckles and Silver team up in this week’s Sonic Forces comic

The second part of SEGA’s Sonic Forces digital comic mini series debuted today, and this week it’s catering to Knuckles fans (and Silver fans I guess). Written by Ian Flynn with art by Adam Bryce Thomas, this comic’s story is a direct prequel to the game, showing how some of the game’s characters get involved. It also…well, you’ll see on the final page, I guess.

This week’s comic pages are embedded below. If you missed last week’s comic, you can check it out here.

  1. This is a huge step up from last time. And if the leaked covers I saw are true for the next two comics then it’s gonna get so much better next time.

      1. Yeah. The covers for four Forces Tie In comics were leaked. This one and the one before it were two of those four.

I can’t say what the other two are because I think it would be best if people weren’t spoiled to them. They’re just that awesome.

  2. Good lord, the art is BEAUTIFUL. I would read every panel and spend an extra five minutes just staring at the art. Adam Bryce Thomas gives Tyson Hesse a SERIOUS run for his money. It’s just gorgeous.

And Mania is officially confirmed as a Forces prequel/tie-in. I know Speed Battle already featured the Phantom Ruby shards and Infinite’s abilities use the same sound effect, but nothing is colder evidence than this for the non-believers.

  3. Huh…this was Adam? Odd, his work is usually much more stiff and highly detailed

Either he must’ve gotten a a godlike boost in artistic abilities since Archie went bust or he had a bit of help from Diane Skelly or Tyson. This looks a lot more of what they do

  4. Oh, so it is called the Phantom Ruby. I thought that was a fan term.
Also this comic is really good, dang.

    1. It came directly from Sonic Mania’s game manual. I believe there is a PDF of it online, but it was also shipped with the collectors edition.

  5. At last, my two favorite neglected bois are getting the spotlight, even if it is only for like 5 pages or so. X3″

  6. Knuckles’ dialogue was painful to read. Nice to see that just after Sonic Runners made an effort to de-flanderize his character, we have Ian Flynn reverting him back to the parody he had become in prior games. Sigh.

Things sure are looking up for the upcoming IDW comic, knowing that it will be written by Mr. Flynn. [/sarcasm]
