This is a series of personal blogs written by Dreadknux during the formative years of The Sonic Stadium. It chronicles significant events in the website’s early life.
If you recall back to December 2000 (or simply look at my ‘dairy entries’ for that month) you’ll notice that the Sonic Stadium got a fair few visitors to start off with, and then it all started going downhill. Worse, no-one appeared at the Message Board, no-one was listening to the guff-sounding ‘Sonic Groove Choons FM’ (can’t blame them), and I was designing a new look site in the hope that it may bring back visitors.
I realised that it wasn’t the look that counted (although it helps a fair bit), it was what was in it. The Sonic online fans needed something different to get their teeth into. Soon enough, the Sonic Stadium became the home for JUST that, with the arrival of the Sonic Fan Club, a Radio Station name change, and even a special awards ceremony which the fans took control all the way, which ended up being the biggest Sonic online event of the year, beating off other awards events and even forcing some sites to halt their updates as they campaigned for an award.
This is the year in which the Sonic Stadium metamorphosised from an ugly beetle thing into a beautiful elegant creature – and make no mistake, this trend was set to continue.

The beginning of the future of Sonic Fan Sites…
From a good, positive launch to a slowing popularity of the Sonic Stadium, I decided it was time for a change. I used a website design template to guide me, which is never the best idea, but I did it anyway, silly me. ^_^
Not only did I miss updates for Christmas and the New Year, but I had also missed last year’s greatest event, the Sonic Amateur Games Expo. Started by my pal and fellow PS2-hater Blaze Hedgehog, SAGE is essentially E3 but with Sonic fan games. I kicked myself for missing an update of that. This year, I would take no more chances…
