New Sonic Colours Wii & DS Screens Show New Stage

A large batch of new screenshots for both Wii and DS versions of Sonic Colours have leaked to the net slightly early from the SEGA press site at the SSMB, the screenshots show more of the new stage teased in SEGA’s last Sonic Colours update in which the Rocket Wisp was revealed. According to the original file names of the screenshots posted here, the stage is called Planet Wisp, so could this stage have an integral part in the story in regards to the Wisp aliens?

You can check out all of the screenshots below, thanks to Hero of Legend at the SSMB for the heads up!

  1. Sup! I’m new here,so I can’t wait to see these great news updates and meet everyone!

These screens look AWESOME! CANT WAIT FOR THE GAME!

  2. So you have to collect medals in a fashion similar to New Super Mario Bros… Plus, it seems like the yellow wisp will be in the game after al (i was starting to think it wouldn’t be)

  3. You’re supposed to be able to use the wisps you unlock in each stage, and go back with them to have different play styles, right?

So I’m wondering how you might use the drill wisp, or if you even can. It doesn’t look like there’s a lot of room to dig in this level, as it’s all suspended over a purple river, or on top of steel.

But all in all, it still looks cool.

  4. …You win, Sega. I don’t give a crap about how this game plays- I’m buying it just for the visuals alone.

  5. A mechanical base in a swamp?
That is new and looks fun to run through.
Still can’t believe how awesome this game looks on the Wii.
I start to have more faith in Nintendo again.

  6. Eggman123: It’s a good time to be a Nintendo player right now. Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Pokemon Black & White, the 3DS, Kid Icarus Uprising, and of course, Goldeneye.

  7. If you like Sonic Colors, you’ll LOVE the surprise we got for you later this week. It’s just for you Sonic Stadium readers!!

  8. I decided to not play any sonic games without Giant cheeseburgers…
    Fortunatly this games got one.

  9. Reminds me of Chun-Nan that top image does. Also I love how the Egg Pawns look like construction workers. I hope they have that as a theme throughout where the enemies have stage specific clothing for certain stages (used because i can’t think of a better word).
It looks great, might be the first game I buy for both consoles, they look different enough =)

  10. @ Humble fellow
I’m even more thrilled for the next Nintendo console.
After 2 years of any lack of good 3rd party games for the Wii (expect for No more heroes), Colors lools to be the first ALL good 3D Sonic (imo) AND awesome 3rd party game.
After this I can’t wait for 20th anniversary and Sonic 3D.
After all the amount of good 3rd party games for the 3DS is already awesome.

  11. Wow. AMAZING! iwillbuythisnomatterwahatwowthosevisualsaregreatimfreakin’outathowgreatthisgamelooksimsohappyicouldcrybutilljustlaughhahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. @ Russ

That’s what makes the replay value better. I bought NSMB a few months ago. I got every medal just last week. CONTINUOUS PLAYING.

Or maybe I just suck at Mario XD

If sonic did something like this, I’d be playing it for months. That and if they brought back the chao garden. Talk about Replay Value!

  13. These screens look amazing; especially the one with Sonic in the air and the tower in the background. You can see the amount of platforming you’re gonna have to do in order to reach the top.

  14. Screens are nice.. but I’d rather it in action to get better ideas of what to expect.. that and to hear what the music will sound like. And to hear a little bit more of Smith’s work. Looking at shot 13 and 14, the ones where Sonic’s doing the drift technique has me a little nervous about playing it with wiimote and nunchuk. I hope that gets worked out to perform right. If it doesn’t sit well, I’m glad they have the option to play with the classic controller.

  15. @Inferno the Fox:
Yeah, you’re right. I just hope that there’s something worthwile in store for those who get all of them. And am I the only person who wants to see a Wisp garden?
