Official Web Domain Appears for ‘Sonic Frontiers’

A new official Sonic the Hedgehog website domain for Sonic Frontiers has been discovered, suggesting that a formal reveal could be happening soon.

Accessing the website currently throws up a ‘403 Forbidden’ error, meaning that it is active but is unavailable for public viewing. The spot comes from Sonic Community member ‘The Deleter’, who found the url http://frontiers.sonicthehedgehog.com to return the specific 403 message.

SEGA teased the new Sonic title, due for a 2022 release on multiple platforms, during its ‘Sonic Central’ celebratory livestream back in May this year. No details were offered about the new project’s gameplay, storyline or even the name, opting to showcase a visual of Sonic darting through a forest and utilising a strange power. A glyph was also presented in the teaser, the meaning of which has yet to be explained.

It’s about time for SEGA to show more about what it’s cooking. Particularly if the studio is looking to reinvent the style of play and build a template for future Sonic games, according to Sonic Team lead Takashi Iizuka in an interview with Sonic Stadium earlier this year. With The Game Awards ceremony taking place in a matter of days, this seems like the right moment to fully unveil what we now know will be titled ‘Sonic Frontiers’.

  1. I hope Sonic Origins might also be revealed at The Game Awards 2021 on 9th December 2021.

  2. Website trademarks for upcoming games are usually good signs, so there definitely will be something Sonic-related at the Game awards for sure.

That said, I loathe the game awards for several reasons and don’t wanna sit through the whole show. I just wait for my buddies to alert me when that Sonic-related thing(s) gets confirmed and that will be the only thing I watch.
