IDW Publishing Comic Mini Series Will Be Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Movie Prequel

A listing on Penguin Random House’s website reveals that IDW comics are planning to release a mini series covering Sonic’s adventures between the first and second movies!

According to the pre-order page for the Official Movie “Pre-quill” (this listing is for a collection of what will comprise the comic series in it’s entirity), the 4-part mini series will cover the antics of Sonic, Tom, and Maddie, in the run-up to the second movie, due out in 2022.

  1. Unexpected, but I’m quite excited. Will be very interesting to see the artists’ takes on live action characters as well as the movie design of sonic.

  2. Mostly unrelated, but I do appreciate how the “Fastest Thing Alive” moniker is still around. That did originate from SatAM right? Or was it used somewhere before that theme song that I’m unaware of?
