Remember Sonic’s birthday party in Sonic Generations? His friends gifted him some chili-dogs with a bow on them. Even after Sonic’s time-traveling adventure ended, they were still warm. Well, SEGA’s ready to tell you how you can make these chili-dogs too!
You can find a section on it at SEGA’s Tokyo Game Show 2020 site. The chili-dog recipe is just 1 of 5 you can see on the site, including some special curry from Persona 5 Scramble and even rice balls from Alex Kidd’s Miracle World.
Unfortunately, we don’t understand Japanese, so getting the exact chilidog recipe is difficult. In fact, the only reason we even know what the site was for was thanks to Dave Luty on Twitter. So, we’re relying on Google Translate to understand the recipe, which may not be accurate.
You’ll need two sets of ingredients. Set A, your main ingredients, are a hot dog bun, a hot dog, an “appropriate amount” of cheese, and jalapeno slices. Set B is 1 can of tomatoes, 1 can of beans, 1 onion, 1 clove of garlic, 150 grams of minced beef and pork, 1 pack of small cumin seeds, 2 packs of small cumin powder, 1 small jar of honey, and one cup of consumme soup.
All your Set B ingredients need to be fried in a frying pan and adjusted for tastes. Then, take the hot dog and put that on the frying pan. After it’s done, put it on the bun, then sprinkle the ingredients on top of it. There’s no set order for them, but they do mention sprinkling the cheese on last.
Once this is all done, bake the entire thing for 2 minutes in a toaster or toaster oven. Once it’s out, all that’s left is to add the jalapeno. You can add whatever amount off jalapeno you want, and once you feel you’re satisfied with that, you’re ready to eat.
And there you have it. Now, unlike Sonic’s chili-dogs, we can’t guarantee that the real life counterparts will stay warm after a while. For starters, we’re not time-traveling. And this isn’t a cartoon. But, if you’re curious what those chili-dogs tasted like in the game, now you can find out for yourself!
Man, that would kill me. I can’t handle spicy foods D:
