Japan is around 8 hours ahead of the UK, which means that as we write this right now, it’s already January 1, 2020 in the country. Sonic Team and SEGA has wasted no time in celebrating the turn of the new decade, with a cool new graphic and a new hashtag campaign that may be used to promote new Sonic projects over the next year.
You can see the Happy New Year 2020 image in full below, along with an awesome new render of Sonic holding a gold ring. You can also spot the #SONIC2020 logo in the bottom corner, which Sonic Team says they will use to ‘challenge various things’ in the next 12 months (translated from tweet embedded below).
SEGA’s parent company, SEGA Sammy, has also gotten in on the action with a special tweet celebrating the dawn of 2020. They’ve included a brand new piece of artwork too based on the calligraphy style of the last couple of years.
