SEGA today announced Team Eggman, the final three playable characters to be added to the roster in Team Sonic racing!
The character line-up includes Eggman himself, along with Metal Sonic and the rather odd choice of Zavok (what? No Heavy King?).
The character descriptions, as given in the official press release, are as follows:

● Eggman [Technique] – a.k.a. Dr. Ivo Robotnik is the main archenemy of Sonic, with a personal goal of achieving world domination
● Metal Sonic [Speed] – one of Eggman’s lethal creations, this cold, violent machine aims to prove that he’s the better hedgehog between him and the Blue Blur
● Zavok [Heavy] – the leader of the Deadly Six, a demon-like being that continues to battle Sonic and friends whenever the opportunity arises

A prime opportunity to bring back Tails Doll… and they choose Red the Generic instead.
The worst part is, I’m not even surprised.
He’ll probably be in a DLC Pack.
To be honest, I doubt it: he’s probably too wedded to Classic Sonic to ever appear alongside Modern again because NEVER THE TWAIN SHALL MEET or something I dunno.
Look, I get that many people saw most of the Deadly Six as stereotypical in Lost World, but other than Zavok and Zazz, we haven’t heard much from them since. I wonder if we’ll ever see Zomom, Zik, Zeena and Zor again.
Jesus, they’re still using the name Ivo Robotnik in official press? Sonic Generations made fun of how dead that name was back in 2011.
Anyways, it’s really weird that Zavok keeps showing up when none of the other Deadly Six are and also he didn’t really uh, like Eggman. At all. He was an illusion in Forces so whatever, but this appearance really raises some questions.
Huh, odd to see people taking Ivo Robotnik as an issue in the current year (hahah). Individual preferences sure, but there are far more obvious issues about this game than just a name, that has been part of the character since 1991. Also I remember calling few more instances after Generations, when the name was used aside as a joke. Not saying that Eggman is 100% bad name (Fits the character in terms of his shape and has been a thing in Japan since Sonic 1), but Robotnik does feel more of villain name as well having the connection to robotics.
Oh yeah, that red Bowser character is still a thing for some reason.
It’s just another reason to add another rival character to Sonic’s growing line-up of enemies. The Tails Doll is strictly a CLASSIC Character, just like Mighty and Ray. Those two never appear in Modern unless the comics have them.

I know that the Deadly Six were badly written characters but the thing that redeems them for me are their designs. I was hoping that they would be good characters in Sonic Lost World and was disappointed.
Since WHEN are the Deadly Six DEMONS?!
This type of game should focus on fanservice, so Zavok is OK by me, I’d just personally pick like, any other character though.
Throw in a Team SEGA; NiGHTS, AiAi, Billy
… and Team Dreamcast; Ulala, Beat, Amigo. Heck, forget this game and just make another “& SEGA” game.
But I guess Zavok takes priority since he’s: New, bad-gai, and red.
You know how much kids like red.
I honestly like Zavok although I wish they chose Infinite instead.
They should’ve chosen anyone but Zavok. Heck, even Orbot and Cubot would’ve been better.
Kind of weird that they keep trying to find excuses to have Zavok teamed up with Eggman even though they clearly established in his debut game that he hates working for/with Eggman. Metal Sonic makes sense, you could always say Eggman reprogrammed him to be obedient, but Zavok? Guess he’s just bored without the rest of the Deadly Six ever being mentioned. No seriously, where are they? I get that Zavok is probably the best character among them, but come on it’s just a waste of creativity to stop using characters Sonic Team, I thought you would have figured that out by now.
