The director of Disney’s upcoming animated film ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’ has confirmed that Sonic the Hedgehog will once again feature – most likely as a cameo character.
The blue blur previously appeared in the Disney Animated Studios prequel, ‘Wreck-It Ralph’, which was set within a series of arcade and video game worlds. With the sequel ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’ focusing on the information superhighway instead, there were fears that the video game character origins would be pushed to one side.
At the very least, the land of the Internet doesn’t seem to have a negative impact on the cameos featured in the films, as director Rich Moore responded to a fan’s question of, “will we see [Sonic] again” with an enthusiastic, “Yep!”

I mean, it was in .GIF form, but it still counts. Also, image macro-based answers are totally on brand for the film right now.
We can’t wait to see what form Sonic’s appearance will take in Ralph Breaks The Internet. Stay tuned for more news on this as we get it.
No doubt to bring us a similar message, most likely related to the internet memes.
Not sure I want to see Sonic in a movie about the Internet…
Awesome News!
Im betting Sonic will a quick cameo in a crowd scene before Ralph goes online.
Please let his appearance involve Mario too!
This can only mean one thing:
Those greedy assholes at Disney are one step closer to buying Sega.
