Comic Preview: Solicitation Revealed for IDW Sonic the Hedgehog #2

Now isn’t this a shocking move! IDW have revealed the solicit to the second issue of the new comic series a day before the rest are supposed to be released, and it’s got a lot going on!

While issue 1 was focused on Tails, this issue will focus on Amy Rose. Sonic’s still out saving more towns, but when he comes across this one, Amy comes along to help him fight off more of Eggman’s forces. But things take a more serious turn when Amy has something to ask of Sonic; rejoining the resistance!

  1. So, sounds like this series, or the first part at least, will be loosely based on Sonic Forces.

  2. Sonic is (re-)joining a resistance and protecting towns? Oh dear lord. This sounds like just every other American Sonic adaptation that that wasn’t Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. The more I find out about this comic the less interested I am.

  3. Congratulations SEGA and all you purist fucks – you finally got your wish.

A ~~$3.00~~ No ,**$4.00**, 24 page propaganda for the video games that only appeals to Sonic fans and hopes to lure newcomers to the franchise. …and it’s not even the best one that came out. (No. I’m not talking about Super Mario Odyssey Adventure 3. The other one, Mania)

Hope it’s worth it, cuz this is definitely not gonna be on my pull list. I’m saving my money for something of value….like Dark Horse’s ARMS comics!

You heard me… ARMS! Oh and look, it’s also written by Ian Flynn. Guess I’m not missing anything special from this “TOTALLY UNIQUE” Sonic The Hedgehog Licensed Comic Book™

  4. So its going to kickstart by adapting the worst (non boom) Sonic game…
Yeah not a good start. IDW what you doin man?

  5. Wow. I think the last bit of naive hope I had for this ‘new’ franchise addition just jumped out the window. Why. Would. They. Do. This?? Sonic could’ve had a Fresh Start, free from game and tv show baggage. (Even CN’s Sonic Boom succeeded with this in a way) They had months after Forces Flopped to redirect their course! Why associate that disaster with what replaces Archie Sonic?? Was the Forces’ world just that great in their eyes? I am legitimately tired now, this very well might be the straw that breaks my desire to keep up with all this. And as a passionate Sonic fan since 2008, I do not say that lightly.

  6. I was hoping for something more… fresh, I guess. Let’s hope that this is just for the first four issues, and we get genuinely new stuff from issue 5.

  7. The art looks absolutely lovely! I still am not really excited by the plot though, we’ll have to see about that.

  8. dude if you didn’t notice every good sonic story is about sonic trying to reclaim the world from eggman since there’s a game where he actually takes it over and SEGA wanna made adaptations that ALWAYS HAVE A MUCH BETTER STORY THEN THE GAMES it’s a perfect lead into the post eggman apocalypse story that we love
