Sonic x Hooters Collaboration Deal Includes Cool Sonic Forces Coasters

SEGA have announced the details for the Sonic Forces promotional campaign with Hooters Japan. This collaboration was announced at TGS near the end of September, and was met by Western fans with some confusion. The promotion overall seems similar to the Sonic Cafe promotion that was done at the end of last year in Japan.

The campaign will start October 16th and is set to end December 10th, about a month either side of the game’s release date. It will be held daily across three of the six Hooters stores in Japan (Shinjuku, Ginza and Akasaka) between 3pm and 5pm. In this time, you will be able to order special Sonic-theme menu items; a blue citrus-flavoured soda and, naturally, a Chilli Dog. This set will cost 1,180 yen.

The store also gets a bit jazzed up with the Sonic theme. There will be a mural and character panels as decoration (again, similar to the Sonic Cafe), and at a certain time the Hooters girls will dance to the tune of Fist Bump. When you order a collaboration meal, you will get one of four Sonic Forces-themed coasters.

I’m not sure how many of our readers will be in Japan during the campaign so most of you may never take part in the promotion. Nonetheless, it’s nice to see Sonic Forces getting big marketing events like this, and the campaign itself seems pretty neat. Here’s hoping Japanese fans take lots of photos of their experience!

  1. I can’t help but feel that the place where Mimi Tachikawa worked that the girls dressed up as cheerleaders from “Digimon Adventure Tri” is a reference to Hooters.
