SEGA Planning Anniversary Car for Sonic’s 25th

The Sonic Stadium has discovered that back in January of this year SEGA of America hired motor vehicle industry veteran Brian Fox of Fox Marketing for the role of ‘Automotive & Motorsports Brand Development Consultant’. As well as helping build partnerships within the automotive industry for the Sonic the Hedgehog brand Fox has also been tasked with the designing, building and coordinating of a 25th Anniversary Sonic the Hedgehog vehicle.

Here are the duties in full:
-Select and develop appropriate brand partnerships within the Automotive and Motorsport landscape for Sonic the Hedgehog.
-Brand Position Efforts
-Market Research and Development
-Design, build, and coordinate 25th Anniversary Sonic the Hedgehog Vehicle
-Custom Promotions
-Licensing Recommendations
-Create New Revenue Streams
-SEMA Partnerships
-Event Integration Opportunities

It would appear SEGA is certainly going all out for Sonic’s big 25th. Hopefully we’ll see the Anniversary car at a future event such as E3.

  2. I bet it won’t be for sale. They are probably just making it as sort of a mascot car thingy sorta like the giant Sonic balloons in the Thanksgiving day parade… Only… A car.

  3. …Why? I get it’s probably going to be a one-off promotion vehicle and it’s probably going to point to the Sega All-Stars Racing games, but why?

  9. Um, as cool as a car is Sega, is this really a wise investment in money. I mean, most of that could be going towards the anniversary title, or whatever other Sonic game that needs the time and money put into it to make it spectacular. If anything I’d almost rather invest in another skateboarding event.

    1. The game has been in development for so long, the remaining things that need to be done don’t need a budget. Anyway, this is marketing, so it is definitely a wise investment.
