One of the things we’ve loved about the Nintendo 3DS SEGA re-releases is just how much time and care has been placed into every title. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is no exception, having recently landed on the Japanese eShop. It’s all down to developer M2, whose efforts clearly show that they care about the games they’re looking after. This is no more apparent than in this quirky credits sequence for Sonic 2.
In the scene, you get an introduction to all of the enemies in the game, as well as the main players – Sonic, Tails and Eggman. The cute little animations show how many times Tails ends up coming a cropper with the level Badniks – while the seemingly invincible Sonic just ploughs through them all and saves the day.

That perfectly sums up my experience with tails in sonic 2. He’s fine, he’s immortal. Just leave him behind otherwise he’ll mess you up.
Haha, this is incredible. Makes me really miss the days when Sonic games had genuine character that was somehow gloriously expressed through those little 16-bit sprites.
