Then, we take a trip back to the past as Archie gives the low-down on Sonic Archives #22. It is a reprint of the latter half of the Sonic Adventure saga (the first half being in Sonic Archives #21), containing  Sonic the Hedgehog #83-#84 and Sonic Super Special #13 (not to be confused with the magazine series!). I suppose most people won’t need a reminder of the story, but it’s still a classic adaptation.

Archie’s bestselling Sonic Archives graphic novel series continues! Get ready for super Sonic adventure as Sonic and his Freedom Fighter friends continue their battle in the lost city of Station Square amidst its mysterious human inhabitants! Buckle up for the dramatic conclusion to the Sonic Adventure videogame tie-in story as Super Sonic and Knuckles take on the gigantic monster Perfect Chaos in a battle that will leave you breathless!   1. I can’t believe that Super Special is only just hitting shops this week when I’ve had it digitally for about two weeks P;

  2. Hrm…I actually kinda want this now :/ usually I just stick to the two main comics but the Sonic Dash story looks promising.

  3. I’m loving all the in-jokes there are in this story so far. The fact that new characters just keep showing up one after the other, constantly tripping over obstacles, running into every wall there is. I just love me some in-game commentary, especially when it comes from the game itself! 😀

  4. I know the Sonic Dash strip will just be a one-off, non-canon to the comic story but gah…I so so so hate advertising strips. Technically, a Sonic comic is, of it’s own design meant to promote the games and merchandise of the franchise but at least the writers could write actual stories. Also Amy is Sonic crazy brain-dead character again, just like the games. Glad it’s a one off. Good art though.

  5. I LOVE how Knuckles has been on nearly every cover of Sonic material recently, their really starting to push the whole Sonic and Knuckles thing again, just like old times…….HOW IT SHOULD BE!

    1. I think this is more to do with the era covered, in the case of the reprints. The original issues were released when Knuckles had his own comic way back and was arguably more of a central character than Sonic. The covers of the reprints have to reflect that somehow.
