Todays Nintendo Direct just finished and it contained one or two suprises for fans of Sonic Lost World. The first big suprise was a look at the Wii U version of the game which also included a cut scene from the game showing the Deadly Six turning against Eggman and… well… I won’t spoil it for you. As well as some new segments of gameplay.

In addition to this, the 3DS version was also shown and more insight was given on how the two games will link up. Tails can created ‘toys’ which can be sent to the Wii U version of the game. The second player can then use them to help the player controlling Sonic on his way. In the example shown, an RC Helicopter was used to collect rings.

    1. Sonic Lost World just doubled its popularity because Orbot and Cubot are now confirmed to be in it. 😀

  1. Wow, Tails looks cute on the 3ds. Well at least it gives us a reason to buy both versions. I wonder what Knuckles and Amy will look like
    And wow, Eggman being betrayed…

  2. I like the idea of crossplay between the two systems… For once, I truly want to buy both versions of a Sonic game, whereas I did not with Sonic Generations. Though, I hope that cutscenes won’t work in the 3DS version like how they have from Rush onward. I think this game has potential for awesome cutscenes on the handheld side of things too. The gameplay for both versions looks like fun, and I can’t wait for it, regardless of its shortcomings which are opinion-based, of course.

    1. I love the idea too, but I just can’t conclude whether it is worth it or not. If there will only be about 10 things to build, then I’ll be upset. If there is actual goodness in the building system, but the 3DS version is an overall flop, I’ll still be upset. And let’s not forget that money is a factor in this. I think the best thing to is to wait after the games are released, get some details about what its actually like, then make your decision whether to get the 3DS version or not. I am betting towards it being worth it though. 😉

      1. Good point. Though that didn’t exactly work well when I bought Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games on the 3DS. XD (Seriously, that version sucks, or is at the very least, an inconvenient party game.)

        1. I can share your grief. I purchased both the 3DS version of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed and the Wii U version. I was hoping that the 3DS version would be similar to the likes of Mario-Kart 7 in performance and such, but I was so wrong. Not much was really shown of the 3DS version during development so I guess I shouldn’t feel too bad for being mislead, but the 3DS version was probably the biggest waste of money I have ever spent. I really don’t want to make a mistake like that again.

  3. Also, where exactly is Tails working here? His lab down on Earth? A new place he made on Lost Hex? Eggman’s lab?

      1. The Water Temple? Dreamland? Korodai? Pot Land? Super Duper Mario Rainbow Factory? The possibilities are endless!

        1. The TARDIS? The Infinity Lab? Stark Industries? The Normandy? That place the Power Rangers get their Zords from?

          SEGA?
