Sonic Lost World: First 3DS Screenshot

Following on from todays debut trailer for Sonic Lost World, it seems that IGN have also quietly posted a screenshot of what appears to be the 3DS version of the game.

From the looks of things, it’s a side scroller much like how the 3DS version of Sonic Generations was. Of course, with todays trailer completely shattering expectations, your guess is as good as mine at this point.

Furthermore, Executive Editor for IGN Rich George has said on twitter that more Lost World news will be posted later today.

  1. the screenshot kinda looks like classic Sonics green hill zone stage in Sonic Generations on the 360/PS3

  2. Wow, that looks exactly like Green Hill Zone. How are they going to convince us that it is not? Unless it is an alternate Green Hill Zone? Just shooting out ideas.

      1. I really hope it’s just as much 3D as the console version though, since I most likely won’t get it for Wii U (I don’t have one and have no desire to own one).

  3. the Wii U has side scrolling sections too. So whether the 3DS version is a side-scroller is still to be confirmed. Though I think it probably will. Mind you, I like having two different takes on the one game. If the 3DS is just a lesser version of the Wii U, I’ll be disappointed.

  4. Please let there be multiple characters, Please let there be multiple characters, Please let there be multiple characters

    1. its been a prominant rumor all the way upto now so hopefully we will see other characters.
we need a full PC sonic game – generations got so many mods and sega supported it (being interested and also didnt put a ban on it).

  5. i guessing the screen shot for the 3ds is a 2d part of the level and nothing more

  6. Hmm…I’m not against this, as the 3DS is my only way of getting the game so far, but I’ve always felt they were inferior to the console versions. Yes, there is a difference in computing power, but it still always felt a little shafted. Now, I haven’t PLAYED any 3DS games for Sonic, but I’ve watched a lot of gameplay and just the look of the game felt a bit let down.

…Could be me though. I like seeing things on a big flat screen television.

  7. I saw another screen with a 3D-Top Down Sonic. Perhaps it’s more like Colors for Wii.

  8. My poor wallet… It’s going to be totally empty this fall… DAMN YOU SEGA!!!!!
