The Sonic 4 news keeps on coming! Today, we have a list of achievements and the names of three levels, courtesy of Xbox360Achievements and SEGAbits. Through these achievements we now know the game has an optional world map, which can be skipped through the entirety of the game to get a “Endurance Race” achievement. We also know the name of three more stages, castle stage we’ve been seeing in a lot of screenshots: Sylvania Castle Zone, Sky Fortress Zone and the snow stage, according to translations from Sonic Retro and SEGAbits, is called White Park Zone.

One of those achievements must mean that Tails is unlockable for Single Play. If not, it’s next to impossible if you don’t have someone else to play with or don’t have Live.
Kind of confused…one of the achievement says play as tails 50 times, but you can’t play as tails. -_-
To GamerGirl010: hit the first link in the article (The one after the Xbox360Achievements link), the second link doesn’t seem to work but the first one works fine.
Who knows, maybe they’ll pull a Sonic CD and have Tails as a unlockable character… I just really want to see a better detailed video of the physics though. From the recent video, it looks like they barely fixed the momentum imo.

Collect all seven Chaos Emeralds.

Clear SYLVANIA CASTLE ZONE, Act 1 in one minute or less.
All Red Star Rings Found! 40g
Defeat the final foe after collecting every Red Star Ring.
A golden wave? Does that mean that we”ll see bosses at the end of an act instead of it having its own act? Sweet! I hated boss acts in ep 1.

It says there’s the names of three stages but I only saw Sky Fortress and CastSylvania…. (*cough cough* Sylvania Castle Zone…).
But anyhoo, I didnt’ even think of it as a castle per se. I saw it as Aquatic Ruin Zone/Marble Garden Zone but okay this is new and good.
The acheivement sounds easy and doable enough. Just play through without the world map.
Sylvania: Latin for “forest land”.
Play as Tails 50 times? Gee I really love the fox, but 50 times??

The third stage was translated by someone on SEGAbits. It’s their exclusive. So thats where you’ll find the name from the news post ;).
Edit: Also apparently White Park was mentioned on Sonic Retro yesterday, so…updated!
The zone in Sonic 2 was called Wing Fortress, not Sky Fortress. That zone can’t be a revisit, because Ken Balough previously stated there will be only one throwback level, which is obviously Aquatic Ruin / Sylvania Castle.

Last zone is Sky Fortress.
No news on the casino level yet… It will be zone 3!
My guess is Casino Chaos or something like that.

They keep saying it’s a carnival type level but then I heard that White Park is the snow and carnival level put together, so I don’t know. They might keep the final zone a secret.
White Park is the snow level and the carnival level. The 3rd zone is some sort of desert/oil factory, based on that one screenshot from the 1st batch of S4E2 screenshots.

The only purpose in collecting the red rings is to open up the final battle zone. Even if you collect all 7 chaos emeralds, access to the final boss won’t be obtained until you collect all of the red rings.

In Sonic 3d blast you had to collect all 7 chaos emeralds before you could access the final zone.
I still think Ep3 will take place on little planet/death egg.
