Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 Appears on Korea’s Game Rating Board

Siliconera has discovered a rating for Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 at Korea’s Game Rating Board website, which could mean that SEGA will soon be ready to start going public with this next episode soon. Until now, SEGA’s not given much details outside of the fact that they are working on Episode 2 and that it will be linked to Sonic CD. We’ll keep an eye out for further developments and pass them on here.

When contacted by Eurogamer, SEGA declined to comment.

    1. Well it’s not 2 years. xD

Also Iizuka-san commented on that saying that they had to focus on Sonic Generations that’s why they left Sonic 4 on the sidelines.

  1. Yes! Cant wait! I have been looking forward to this even more thann i was looking forward to Generations. Im in the minority that loved episode 1. The physics even grew on me, although I would be 100% for tweaking them to be more like the classics. Even if i liked episode 1s physics more there is simply no excuse for Sega not to make them more like its predocessers.

  2. Sonic 4 Ep 1 was a good game, not perfect as it had its faults like many Sonic games. What I found strange is that a lot of people moaned about the mechanics of Sonic CD, the spindash and that the game feels slower than Sonic 1,2,3 etc. Whereas the spindash for Sonic 4 Ep 1 is ten times worse than Sonic CD, and Sonic feels even slower in Ep 1 than in CD.

I had no problem with the spindash on Sonic CD. S0 you had to wait two seconds for the spindash to charge up, so what? The Peel out move was just as good. Visually looked better with the ‘figure of a eight; for Sonic’s feet’ when you did the peel out.

So I think Sonic CD is a much better game than Ep 1. If Sonic 4 Ep 2 mechanic’s copied Sonic CD it would be a big improvement.

Ep 1 was still a good game/episode though. My main dislike was that it just felt too short. Needed six or seven levels as four was not enough in my opinion.

  3. They also need unique level themes. Sonic 4 ep.1 might as well have been called Sonic 1 ep. 2 because the levels were so similar to the first game.
