  1. Strange that Sega no longer mentions Sonic 4 EP2 since they said it’ll be out this year. Jus’ wonderin’ thats all.
Any hows i’m really exited to this year’s E3.

    1. They never dated Episode 2. The game’s not even been officially announced outside of SEGA’s Ken Balough’s forum posts earlier this year where he confirmed it’s in development.

      1. when they were doing sonic 4 episode 2 in development , they must be thinking and say hey why dont we make old classic sonic in a 3d stage format. someone else said it will be cool if modern sonic was in green hill zone using the inleashed hedgehog engine . We make a new game and its called sonic generations!

        1. You’re implying they thought of Generations about 3 months ago…when the game has actually been in development for almost 3 years…I kind of doubt that.

  2. This might be slightly off topic but…
Am I the only one who is looking more forward to Sonic 4 episode 2 than any other sonic game?
That might sound crazy with how great generations is looking but I just cant wait to see where they go with it. I have a good feeling about it.

    1. i got a good feeling ’bout this one even though i did not realy like epi1 but metal sonic got me hyped man

  3. I hope they’ll pull a Nintendo this year and announce two brand-new unleaked Sonic Games at the Conference.

Do they have a conference? =/

    1. Nope. Since they left the console business they’ve not held E3 conferences. They have a big booth like all of the other publishers though.

  4. see i think that this is ashame, last year we had sonic and sega all stars racing come out at the start of the year, Sonic the hedgehog 4 in october, Sonic Free riders in November as well as Sonic Colors/Colours in november
this year is his anniversary and its now June and the only games we know of are coming out in November/December-ish

    1. They could pull a big surprise and annouce sonic 4 episode 2 at E3 and its available for release on June 23rd that would be cool.

Well for those who liked sonic 4. I did if anyone was wondering 🙂

      1. Hell no! If S4EP2 came out this month, it’d be crap! I’m not expecting this game till 2012.

      2. It just startded developement. I think it’d be way too soon!

Tho technically, it’s not too late to release Sonic games.

    2. Well, technically it’s still Sonic’s 19th year until Jun 23rd. From June 23rd 2011 – June 23rd 2012 is Sonic’s 20th year and any game released between those times are on time. Technically, November/December is right smack in the middle of that. XD

    3. I understand you but its for markating and sales, its for the hoilday season PLUS it gives SEGA more time to work on the game and make it better

    4. @tjthefox:
Technically, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing isn’t a Sonic game. It was a game based on all SEGA characters. November/December-ish? Sonic Generations and M&S London Wii are both down for November. There aren’t any Sonic games down for December.

      1. ok in that case we get 1 sonic game this year cause mario and sonic olympics isnt technically a sonic game either…
and i was told december and yelled at and abused by people about the release date being in december
so i stated december for those people who are now wrong 🙂

      2. Well it KINDA is because it’s called “SONIC” and SEGA All-Srars Racing. lol

I mean, it’s not JUST a Sonic game, but it would be listed in the list of Sonic games as a party game or spinoff. Isn’t Super Smash Bros considered a spinoff party/fighting game of the Super Mario Bros series?

        1. Even if Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing is technically not a “Sonic game”, Mario & Sonic IS!

Because it’s a crossover game. In other words, it’s a Mario game AND it’s a Sonic game. It’s a Mario and Sonic game. XD

I wouldn’t have yelled and abused you about it, it’s just that some ppl thought it was earlier or in the summer when SEGA had already said “Holiday Season” and then later they specifically said “December” and confirmed it. It’s just SEGA has now changed their minds and said November. Some places are no still just listing it as “Holiday Season” due to how confusing it is (until they reveal a SPECIFIC date XD)

          1. but sonic and sega all stars racing is a cross over game too, i dont understand how u can say that mario and sonic is a sonic game but all stars isnt, theres 8 sonic characters in all stars racing, in the original olympic games there was 8 sonic characters, 10 in the winter one, and all stars even has sonic in the name and him on the cover how can it not be a sonic game? its basically a sonic game with other sega characters staring in it

  5. Oh come on! Why does it always have to come out on Wii first? It did the same thing with the original!
I just hope that with the extra 3 months that they make it an extra 3x better!

    1. sega is selling the 3ds version later because now not alot of people have a 3ds but after christmas alot of people will have a 3ds, so sega is just doing this for marketing.

  6. Can’t wait to see what new Zones will be revealed… …
    Here’s my wish list… …
Sonic 2: Oil Ocean OR Casino Night
    Sonic 3: Ice Cap
Sonic & Knuckles: Flying Battery OR Sky Sanctuary
    Sonic Adventure: Emerald Coast
SA2: City Escape OR Metal Harbor
Heroes: Rail Canyon OR Mystic Mansion
    Sonic 06: Crisis City
    Unleashed: Shamar
Colors: Aquarium Park OR Tropical Resort
Final: Death Egg OR Doomsday Zone

    1. Casino Night Zone won’t be in the PS360 versions, but it’s in the 3DS version.

AND HELL YEAH TO ICE CAP ZONE!! >:U LOL Sorry. XD

    2. Hm Shamar and Rail Canyon…ehhh. Mehish. Personally I think considering side games such as secret rings, rush, etc would be a good idea. <_< I would be shocked if they stuck a riders level or games involving Sonics other friends (Shadow, Tails, Knuckles) in there but heres my hopes.
Sonic 1: Green Hill Zone (confirmed) or Star Light Zone
Sonic 2: Chemical Plant or Hill Top
Sonic 3: Ice Cap or Carnival Night
Sonic & Knuckles: Flying Battery or Sky Sanctuary
Sonic Adventure: Emerald Coast or Twinkle Park or Sky Deck
SA2: City Escape or Metal Harbor or Lost Colony
Heroes: Grand Metropolis or Mystic Mansion or Frog Forest or Final Fortress
Rush: Mirage Road or Huge Crisis
Sonic 06: Crisis City or Kingdom Valley
Rush Adventure: Haunted Ship or Pirate Island
Secret Rings: Sand Oasis or Night Palace
Unleashed: Cool Edge or Sky Scraper Scamper or Eggmanland
Black Knight: Titanic Plain or Molten Mine
Colors: Starlight Carnival or Planet Wisp
Final: Death Egg or Terminal Velocity with a grand finalie against the new baddy whoever he/she is

        1. Because thats not fun. Sonics history has been one hell of an adventure, and to just put the past in is just boring and no fun. I know they said they were putting in the stages that fans liked the most so to speak but I’m wondering if its all stages and less story or stages where the story is implement in. Such as moments when meeting friends, battling enemies and showing C. Sonic a bit of the future while M. Sonic is remembering his past.
;w; Beautiful. minus the whole new crazy guy messing up the fabric of time and space <_< Wouldn't be surprised if M. Metal Sonic and C. Metal Sonic were helping this new guy xD

          1. There is no Classic Metal Sonic. He’s only Metal Sonic, he’s not modern or classic, he’s a robot 😛

          2. @ Rickyrick
Say what now? Hes been though so many upgrades, remember this is in a way a time travel adventure back in the past. If you see C. Eggman, C. Sonic, there’s bound to be Classic Metal Sonic, as well as some of Classic friends. < < Classic Amy meets Modern Amy so many minds will be blown.

          3. Well he’s only been in 2 forms, Metal Sonic(Sonic CD), and Mecha Sonic(S3&K) but I see what you mean, there is a possibility of C.M.Sonic coming 😛

          4. o: Don’t forget about Neo Metal Sonic. Also, did you see the WiiU revealed? SWEET JESUS, I can only imagine what sonic games would benefit from this.

  7. This is all great news….I have a wishlist of levels too XD I can’t wait But what Happened To Sonic 4 Episode 2? even though I never played Episode one XD

    1. everybody keeps complaining about sonic 4 ep 2 just sit sit down and be paitent!

  8. Ok seriously guys, for all of those whom are wondering what’s happening with Sonic 4: Episode 2. Sega is making it now, It’s in development. And you have to think on what Sega has to and mite do for Episode 2.
    1. They have to implement Tails which also leads to a multiplayer mode, Locally and likely Online.
    2. Creating original Zones and bosses, which takes much longer than coping and pasting. if you get what I mean =P
    3. They are probably tweaking the Sonic Rush’s physics engine to make it more on par with the classics and….Generations. After all that severe backlash we gave it.
    4. And they are also probably “and I’m hoping for” trying to implement a lock-on feature with Episode 1, Sonic 3 & Knuckles comes to mind.

Unlike Episode 1, Episode 2 is going to naturally have a much longer development. As much I hate to say it, I don’t see Episode 2 being released this year, But if it does and it’s better than Episode 1 then more power to Sega.

    1. Well they gave us a small tea spoon of Sonic 4 news already so idk y ppl are saying “What happened to Sonic 4” like they said it was cancelled or something. They don’t have anything to reveal about Sonic 4 ep 2 year. They didn’t say anything about ep 1 for like half a year after it’s first teaser. ep doesn’t even have a teaser yet. Give it some time. XD

      As for your list,

1 – they don’t HAVE to impliment Tails. It’s possible and I hope they do, in some cases it might even be likely. But they’ve given know sign that they will or won’t. This also doesn’t necessarily mean multiplayer.

2 – It doesn’t take THAT much longer to create new robot designs that do the exact same thing. The level designs would take the same length of time as well since, in ep 1, none of the designs were exactly like an pre-existing level. They had a similar thing to follow the tradition of the original 3 classics. Sure, they might need to come up with new enviroments, but it’s not gonna take them any longer to design the layout of the stage than it did with ep one. Cuz the layout of the stage in ep1 wasn’t copied, it was original.

3 – I’m confused. Ppl liked Advance and Rush series. So if they’re the same physics, what’s the problem? And isn’t it more like Advance than Rush since Rush has a boost? (wait, does Rush have boost? idk, but I’ve heard it does. o.O Well ppl seemed to like Sonic Colors DS too so… yeah. still confused XD) But you’re probably right on the physics tweak thing. Probably easier as it’s a seperate title in the same game as a whole (sort’ve like how Sonic & Knuckles is like Sonic 3 ep2 but is still a seperate title xD) And being a seperate title, it might have slightly better graphics and better physics with new stages. Tho the graphics might just be the exact same (or at least the same Sonic sprite). It’s also possible the physics will only be a LITTLE better if at all. Then again, there’s not much they can do to make it better anyways. XD But still. I think the overall feel of it might be an improvement. We’ll find out ;D

4 – that “lock on” feature, as it’s a downloadable game, would probably be like a patch. Where you can download it seperately as an individual small game, or, if you have the first one, you can download the second one as an extension of the first one where the files then connect. Doing so would mean twice as many special stages thus needing Hyper Sonic again (unless they decide that having all emeralds in the first = no more access to special stages. lol) It’s not likely they’d give us Hyper Sonic again, but if they wanted to, this would be the perfect and only opportunity to do it is all I’m saying. I don’t really mind if they don’t tho. XD

idk y, but ep 1 makes me think of the could light green and yellow. Ep 2 makes me think of the colors blue and white. XD

      1. I think of Blue and green with Ep1 lol XD

Actually Sonic Advance and Rush do not share the same physics, The Rush physics are based around Sonic’s new boost ability while the Advance series still uses momentum based platforming physics that was used in the classics, Even though the gameplay in Advance 2 and 3 are much faster pace, It’s still momentum based. And Sonic 4 uses the physics engine of Sonic Rush and that engine is not designed for platforming. While I really like Ep1 and the physics didn’t bother me that much. It got really bashed by others.

As far as Levels, Let me clear this up. In Episode 1 theirs a equal amount of original and rehash material. But Sega said that Episode 2 will be completely original and expectations on this is high by many fans, including myself. So Sega has to take the time to make zones without referring to past titles. Sega did hinted at one point during the release of Ep1 that Tails will be in Ep2. As for Lock-on feature, I know Sega can do it, Since They have already done it before with the re-release of Sonic and Knuckles and it would make sense to have one for Sonic 4.

  9. In Mario and Sonic at the 2012 Olympics, Amy has her new suit like cheerleader, don’t think that Amy and Sonic are going out on a date now and together forever after Sonic Generations?

  10. I simply cannot wait for Generations! Also, episode 2 sounds great.
Levels and features I think would be cool:
    Levels:
    Chemical plant zone
    Sky sanctuary zone
    City escape
    Star light
    Stardust speedway + metal sonic
    Features:
Chao Garden (don’t critize me, but I love chao)
Points system for buying missions with other charecters (A.K.A shadow in green hill on level 1 for rings)
    Two player mode
Different special stages for different stages (A.K.A UFO stage in stardust speedway, I really hope UFO stage in game)
Alternative costumes by points (Does anyone remember Dreamcast downloads?)
    Power ups like in SA’s
    Mission mode
    Long story mode
    Story mode viewer
    Long, great graphic Opening
All Crush 40 music in Sound test

    1. What is wrong with you people D< personally I would prefer Generations over Episode 2. Would you rather Generations and a crappy rushed Episode 2. You obviously enjoyed your glitch fest in Sonic 06.

      1. I would laugh so hard if in one of the Sonic 4 Episodes, they add C. Sonic XD

  11. GUYS if you like having ideas for video games why dont you guys become a game designer just like me. ( im going to be one in 5 years).
