SEGA of America’s Kellie has revealed via their Twitter account that SEGA will have a booth at this years New York Comic Con. A look at the conventions official website’s exhibitor list re-affirms this. Currently, no details have been announced as to what games SEGA will be bringing to the show, but if recent events the publisher has attended are anything to go by, then you can expect them to bring demos of their Christmas line-up. We’ll keep an eye open for more information.
There’s some interesting news for Sonic fans attending the convention, specifically the merchandise collectors. The ‘show exclusives’ guide at the conventions website reveals that Mythical Fair will be at the event selling their Chaos Emerald replicas for $50, with the optional stand costing just $2.
The Emeralds are made of solid crystal and measure 100mm across in their largest size. They will also be available in a variety of other sizes/colours. If you can’t attend the event and are interested in the Emeralds, you can order them online at Mythical Fair’s website for the same price.

Will you be attending this years convention? Let us know in the comments.
How much you bet some crazed Eggman cosplayer will try to steal all of them?
I’m going, gonna be reporting about it for Capsule Computers
Tell us about it when you get back, Kail. We will feature your impressions if you want to do anything for us.
That goes for anybody else who is going to NYCC, for that matter.
I want one of those emeralds!!
I want that DAMN fourth chaos emerald!
50 bucks for one chaos emerald!!!!! A store near me was selling emeralds like that for 8 bucks!!!!
…what a ripoff…
But still, those look awesome. Too bad getting 7 would make me go in debt for life.
@Inferno
That 8 buck one was just glass. lol Who would sell real crystal for 8 bucks? You crazy?
Those look really nice. Theres a girl on deviantart who makes them herself and sells them, they look pretty similar to these. Not sure about the price though.
(sigh) why is all the good stuff in the USA on either of the coasts? Here I am stuck in the middle and can’t drive 1600 miles in either direction without spending loads of money.
I’m not getting that emerald.
Since, you know, the fakes don’t let you go Super. 🙁
@Jonneh
But you can use chaos control with them! -SA2
Anyway, the dont come to SDCC but they go to new york? >:(
I would be very happy to have one of those emeralds, just so i can shout “Chaos Control!” and-
oh wait, they’re fakes, nvm. (still want one)
OMFG! SOOOOOOO GONNA GET ONE SOME WAY ANOTHER PURPLE emerald..here i come!
Btw, which one is the actual size of the chaos emerald..?there are 4 on the site..
Well, for any other cosplayers going as sonic characters, see ya there! Gonna have a HUGE sega group this year. If anyone saw the cosplayers on the sega home page from last year’s comic con, I’m the werehog cosplayer.
@HumanSonic217
So want to see your Werehog cosplay. ^^
We’re the vendor that sells the Chaos Emeralds and yes, people constantly come up to our booth at cons, pick up the green Emerald and yell “Chaos Control!” On the photo pages of our website there is actually a picture of a guy fully dressed as Tails holding one of the crystals. We joke with customers that we are going to sell plastic gold rings to go along with them.
The $50 ones are the largest and most expensive, we have smaller and cheaper ones. My nephew is a huge Sonic fan and asked for a Chaos Emerald for his 8th birthday. He loved it so much we decided to add it to our inventory. So it is really his fault that we started carrying them!
We’re excited that the Chaos Emeralds is a buzz as they are slightly different from our normal merchandise and it’s a huge kick to see the look on people’s faces when they walk by our booth and see the emeralds. We just got back from DragonCon and that happened a lot.
If anyone attending wants to stop by our booth and say hi, we are booth 2930 (ComicCon website has a map). Thanks!
