More Footage of Sonic Colours’ Planet Wisp Stage

(Footage starts at 03:53 and ends at 05:58)

Those left hungry for more from the taste of Planet Wisp that we got from Nextplay’s recording will be happy with gamer365On’s footage from Gamescom. This recording starts a lot earlier in the level, where we see some open turns for drifting, some wall running and some rail grinding sections. Later in the stage, we see more of the alternative routes that you can take if you fall from higher areas. That’s no doubt some good news for those who hate death pits.

Do you like the look of the Planet Wisp stage? Discuss in the comments.

  1. 3D really looks like it’s mainly straightforward with more emphasis on using the Quickstep and grinding.
Untill now it really looks like it’s around 50:50 with 2D and 3D.
    And that’s a good thing.
Also can’t wait for DKCR (=, this is truly a wonderful year for the Jump’n Run genre.

  2. You gotta admit, there was a part where they made the boost required which was used quite nicely! 8D (He had to boost to go up the wall and over fast enough to run around the circle thingy and jump over at 5:19 x3)

  3. All those games look great! I loved that jazz version of Hydrocity Zone they played during the Sonic Colours footage!

  4. I like the whisp planet the best so far it looks very fun I can’t wait for this game!

  5. Wow..

Donkey Kong, Kirby, TLOZ, and, of course, Sonic Colors..

*sigh* It’s a great year to be a Wii owner.

  6. I like that intense remix of hydrocity they played in the background.

Oh and the game looks fun too. But i hope it’s not a giant memory game like sonic unleashed was.

  7. @ Inferno the Fox

Hey, those are all on Wii, huh? Awesome!

The Wisp world sure looks fun. Practicing for the S rank will probably be a thrill!

  8. Interesting how well Sonic fits in with DK, Kirby and the rest of the Nintendo crew these days. Back in the Genesis/SNES days, he was the only critter who could compete with those guys, now he’s practically one of them.

  9. I really like how it looks, and while I agree sometimes the boost can be spammed I like it in a way. It lets you know Sonic can really accelerate and run fast if he wants to without having to rely on downhills.

Not saying I’d want the feature everywhere, I still appreciate old school physics engines.

Yep, found the Sonic footage and it looks good. Still I’m looking forward to the other games more so, except maybe Donkey Kong as I’m not a long time fan. Still it looks like the rest of 2010 and beyond is going to be chock full of great games.
