Koopa TV have recorded some footage of Sonic Colours on Wii at Paris’s annual Japan Expo event, the demo appears to be the same one on display at E3 a couple of weeks back so nothing really new is shown but this time of course the demo is open for the public to try. I don’t understand French but the player looks to be sucked in and enjoying the game. We’ll keep an eye out for more footage and any impressions that may appear out of the event.

  1. Wow, the game looks really promising so far. That guy playing it seemed really excited.

  2. This looks like a Sonic game. Hell, this looks like a classic Sonic Team game. The boss kind of reminds me of Donbalon and Puffy from the NiGHTS series.

  3. Ah nice…
The laser really has loads of shortcuts as does the drill.
Hopefully the other wisps are as innovative used like these two.
Also, again, my thanks to shadz for digging up a video at 1 am.
    Rock on!!

  4. I wish this would come out on the 360 using the 360’s Unleashed engine, I mean, the wrold map and shizz give the same atmosphere as Mario Galaxy, the 360 needs a game like this, afterall, theres not enough decent adventure/platform games for the system D:

  5. Or… you could have multiple systems. Most that I know of have either a 360 and wii, or a ps3 and wii to vary their gaming experiences. I happen to be in the latter choice and I’m so glad that I got both. When there’s a drought of good games for the wii, always go to the backup system.

Getting on topic though, I’m getting really excited for this title… even more so then with Sonic 4. Which is a shocker since I’ve grown up with the original games. I hope this isn’t like the time that most were excited about Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Rush happened to be out as well, and most ditched Rush cause of the
graphics and what not of Shadow.

From the looks though, I doubt it’ll turn out like that.

  6. @ Reku: I do have a wii, but to be more honest I would rather it came out for the 360 also for the simple fact that, It’s an adventuring sonic game, not a spin-off and possibly part of the main series, but isn’t out on the xbox or ps3…gutting D:

  7. It would seem as though SEGA has ‘trademarked’ Sonics franchise with the 2.5D to full 3D transitioning abound in his recent Hedgehog Engine titles. The graphics for this game have fooled many to think it’s for the PS360, which is an accomplishment on SEGA’s part.

I’m very excited about this game, although I hope they delay it’s release by a few months to a year to tweak it and make it nearly perfect. How else do you think Mario Galaxy received such rave reviews… More development time = more polished game. I assume porting it ONLY for the Wii was based on a market strategy allowing developers a focal point on making ONE good Sonic game.

It’s as if Sonic Colours is a mix between Knuckles Chaotix, Sonic CD and Unleashed [In space]… Colour me QUITE interested!
