Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games Now Available for iPod Touch/iPhone

Just like his mobile outing of the summer Olympiad, SEGA has released a mobile version of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, sans Mario, to the iPhone and iPod Touch.  The game features 10 characters (Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Eggman, Vector, Blaze, Metal Sonic and Silver) and 4 events in the game  (snowboard cross, curling, skeleton and figure skating)

The game has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled multiplayer, but you can also hand your iPhone/iPod Touch off to your friends in “pass and play” mode.

The game is available at the iTunes store for $4.99.  A gameplay video is provided below:

  1. It probably doesn’t have Mario because Nintendo don’t want him appearing on a non-Nintendo platform, whereas Sonic isn’t platform-specific.

  2. Snowboarding look’s like it’s a pain in the ass to control. Graphic’s look on par with Wii, I didn’t think iPod Touch/iPhone had that capability. Show’s how little interest I’ve ever had in iPod’s :p

  3. I just downloaded it, pretty fun! Lots of content for $5. The custom soundtrack option is great. Snowboarding is fun, takes a few games to get it down but definitly better than Sonic ’06’s attempt. Graphics are awesome.
