Mii’s Confirmed For ASR

Mii’s Confirmed For ASR

Look’s like despite being wrong about Gamecube Controller support Nintendo’s Wii Nintendo Channel was at least right about Mii support being in the Wii version of Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing.

SEGA of America and SEGA Europe have just confirmed the feature over at their blogs with two screenshots. The Mii’s look to have their own vehicle similar to how Xbox 360 Avatar’s will have their own vehicle too. The All-Star Move for Mii’s also look’s the same as the Avatar move too where your friend’s Mii’s will come to your aid and give you a boost of speed and power.

Thanks to bolt7 for the heads up.

  1. Yeah this is really starting to take the piss if you’re a PS3 owner, whilst a Home space is nice, unless it’s got lots of Home furniture it’d be pretty much worthless.

  2. @Paul Street: …lol

I’m getting the 360 version. I’m not going to trade in better graphics for Mii-support….the 360 has better avatars anyway (as in they successfully stole Nintendo’s idea and made it better. Haw).

  3. @NinMicroSega: Perhaps Miis specifically, but in an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto, a system similar to the Miis have been planned to have been implemented in every Nintendo system ever since the NES… but for whatever reason** they didn’t do it. I read this in Game Informer, or Nintendo Power I think… not quite sure which…
    *Wobbles topic-train before gets derailed*
Anywho, this just sounds epic! I personally find Miis the best of the people-thingys in the three consoles… still, there IS the 360’s XBox Live… and then there’s the fact I only own one PS3 game (LBP) and I need to add more PS3 games to my library… Ugh, tough choice…

** (Claimed to be tech reasons, Buyable for the NES, SNES, and *maybe* the N64, but the GameCube? Unless Nintendo’s staff is consisted entirely of lazy robots, I doubt tech is the main reason)

  4. YAY! 😀

I had my doubts about the Wii version to begin with, but hearing about the Mii support as just sealed the deal for me now

  5. @ NinMicroSega

Actually, Miyomoto came up with miis back in the mid-nineties during the Super Nintendo era, he just was never able to implement them until the Wii.

  6. But really, why would you wanna play as a mii or an avatar when you have all these awesome Sonic characters to play as?

  7. Nintendo’s crappy online service makes the 360 version an instant choice, but at least they have the same playable avatar character.

*Every time Sumo or Sega screw up Sonic Sega Racing info, another 10 copies of Mario Kart Wii fly off store shelves 🙁 *

  8. Well I guess that confirms console exclusive characters outside of the 360 ones! Mario’s a shoe in.

  9. I don’t really care about Banjo either. lol

Master Chief in a Warthog would have been one million times better.

  10. So, Hitler is finally going to be able to take on Sonic the Hedgehog and Ryo Hazuki on the race track? Epic.

  11. @ Stan

Master Chief in a Warthog would be so friggen funny! Wonder what his All Star Move would be…. a scorpian tank? Blow up all the other cars with one shot!

  12. xD U cant use the 360 avatar and not the mii.lol.
@Nintendo Bros. yea…..Im kinda hoping he not in it but I wnt him in it so I can burn him >;D
