Metal Sonic blow up vinyl appearing at Comic-Con, Toys ‘R’ Us

Metal Sonic is probably one of the most famous and endeering badniks Sonic has ever had to face. As a long time fan favorite, it was only a matter of time until he finally got some merchandise.

On June 17th, Toys “R” Us will be selling  a Metal Sonic vinyl blow up toy for $17. The toy will also be at next month’s Comic-Con.

Frankly, I think this is the single coolest piece of Sonic kit to come out in awhile. The toy is being made byJazwares as part of their JUVI line up. Jazwares has made other Sonic related merchandises that have also been sold at Toys ‘R’ Us exclusively, mostly recently a werehog figure and a Sonic and the Black Knight figure.

  4. Nah, this isn’t something for me. I live in Sweden too but we have e-bay and all those sites.
But I’m only collecting Sonic games, so I don’t need this in any collection.

  5. My local TRU has 8 in stock! I’m taking down names, who’s in?
You! *writes down* you too? *writes down* yup *writes more*

  6. TOYS! TOYS! TOYS! TOYS! TOYS! TOYS! TOYS! TOYS! TOYS!

I want to get those Sonic TOYS! No Toys “R” Us near though :(.

  7. Stulf good news. I heard that Toysrus is losing their exclusive on the Sonic Figures. Lets hope that’s the truth

  8. i went to Toys R Us on teh 17th of June. They had tons of Werehogs. Super Posers Sonics and Shadows, Super Posers Super Sonics and Super Shadows… but non of these. and when I asked about this Metal Sonic, the people working their had no idea what I was talking about 🙁

  9. sonic toast, the reason they didn’t have any is because all this information is wrong. I don’t know where this dude got this. It is only going to be at comic con and online on toysrus.com on July 23rd – 26th. It won’t be in stores. Go to Sonic Gear for more information

  10. @ Future:
Yeah! There’s quite the few differwnt stores where I am, like Wal-Mart (the anti christ), Sam’s Club (the son of the anti christ), Target, and places like Gamestop where they would probably carry them.
    @ Blizz:
Thinking about it, it does seem to be a Mighty Mug. That doesn’t change my mind though.

TOYS! TOYS! TOYS! TOYS! TOYS! TOYS! TOYS! TOYS! TOYS!

  11. Sorry for double posting, but I posted at the same time as some one else did.
    @ Future:
AWWWW! Well, they’ll probably appear on Ebay then. Childish hope; maybe they’ll change their minds.

  12. I sure hope that the Sonic Figures will be in different stores (my toysrus is thirty minutes away where I live) soon. Stulf I bet they will re-release them soon after comic-con. I also think that they would sell better if the toys were in different stores.

  13. Well, if they’re offering them from the website, that’s good news for foreigners who don’t have to pay eBays ridiculous prices (provided Toys R Us are willing to ship overseas)

  14. @ Future:
They probably will, but they could also decide to make it exclusive. I really don’t know how well Toys “R” Us’s (?) Sonic merchandise are selling. If they’re selling well, they could re-release them. If they’re stuck on store selves, it could be exclusive. I’m hoping for a store other than Toys “R” Us (I think KB Toys had exclusive rights before they closed down a lot of their stores) and a re-release of Metal.

    @ Jix:
It’s kinda funny. People here in the US would like to go overseas to Summer of Sonic, and people overseas would like to buy some of the US’s (?) Sonic merchandise.

  15. @STULF the 20X6 Hedgedog I think they are selling pretty well. At the two toys R Us stores I visit frequently, the Sonic figures are quickly disappearing. Sadly, no one buys Super Shadow though. Poor Super Shadow, rows and rows of him that no one wants, right next to the rows of Toad from the Mario Toys. But the regular Shadow super poser seems to sell just as fast as the many Sonic figures.

  16. @ Sonic Toast:
I wouldn’t know, no Toys “R” Us.” Also, they could be selling well at the one store, but for every one store they sell well in there could be three to four stores that can’t get rid of them. I still wouldn’t know though.

Could someone find the sells chart for these products, over all, somewhere? I’m too lazy. Either way, I suppose time is gonna be the only thing to tell us if they’re going to appear in another store, or if Metal is going to be exclusive or not.
