Not content with Sonic visiting the extremely Greek themed Apotos in Sonic Unleashed, fans of the blue blur have voted on Facebook that they’d like to see him appear in Storybook series featuring Greek Myths and Legends. The poll, which was defiantly for fun and will have absolutely no bearing on the direction of any future Storybook games, tasked fans with voting for which scenario they’d like to see Sonic in next with the Greek theme taking home 33% of the vote. The full results can be found on the Sonic Blognik here but my personal favourite idea of Sonic in a Sci-Fi environment came second with 21%. “Sonic In Spaaaaace” with exactly that many ‘a’s would be fantastic, trust me.
So Sonic in Greece? There’s certainly enough mythology to draw from with him being able to battle with or against any number of the Gods. I’m not an expert on the matter but a quick glance over Google leads me to believe a number of Sonic characters could happily portray the Gods in Greek Legend. Here are some descriptions I found:
Hermes = Sonic?
“He is the messenger of the gods. He is the fastest of the gods. He wears winged sandals, a winged hat, and carries a magic wand. Hermes is the god of thieves and god of commerce. He is the guide for the dead to go to the underworld.”
Hades = Eggman?
“Brother of Zeus. God of the underworld, ruling over the dead. He is also the god of wealth, due to the precious metals mined from the earth.”
Aphrodite = Rouge?
“Goddess of love, desire and beauty. Aphrodite rises from the foam of the waves of the sea, enchanting anyone who sees her and inciting feelings of love where ever she goes.”
Hestia = Blaze?
“Sister of Zeus. Goddess of the Home. Each city had a public hearth sacred to Hestia, where the fire was never allowed to go out.”
Apollo = Tails?
“Apollo is the god of music, playing a golden lyre. The Archer, far shooting with a silver bow. The god of healing who taught man medicine. The god of light. The god of truth, who can not speak a lie.”

sonic will be probably again sonic but it would be better if he would be also one person of the saga. it would have been better that way in the next story book games.
ahh and eggman never was the antagonist in a story book game so i`ll say he is zeus
I was thinking Eggman or Eggman Nega as they’re the closest we’ve got to ‘brothers’ in the world of Sonic. Either that or Sonic & Shadow but I liked the idea of Sonic aspiring to be Hermes

Cream would be better as Hestia and Blaze as Artemis since she is the more hunter type and Cream would be more of a “Goddess of Home”. Not hunting in any way.
Sonic as Hermes? Could you imagine him with a winged hat and boots/wand? AND welcoming the people who have passed from the living? Lol! I would like to see what happens and what Sonic Team/Sega come up with. Let’s hope that whatever it is, will be good.

Yeah but I’d already picked Sonic for Hermes due to the whole speed thing. I don’t think putting wings on Sonic’s boots would be much of a stretch and the wand as a story device. I’m not too keen on the idea of a winged helmet for him though.
I was thinking maybe some children’s stories.

Stupid geek(GREEK).XD The only good/cool thing with this greek stuff is that they have cool gods and nothing more.
Isn’t the nature of black knight boring enough!? Now we have this greek and if it’s storis it would be how it looked for many stupid years ago! And it was only bad ugly buildings and stupid…errr…everything is stupid, how are the levels going to look like if they make one with greek stuff!!!??? I want cool levels, that’s one of the things that I want. But of course, the gameplay and the story is most important.
But I still want Sci-fi or if i should be something old, Egypt! With all those cool gods like Anubis! And the pyramids.
But that’s only my stupid opinion. Everyone’s opinions should be accept by others.
But why Cream, she’s a six year old annoying kid. So I just wondering. She’s not even on the top of most popular Sonic characters.
So it would be better with Blaze I think.
Hope next one is Sci-fi anyway or Egypt as I want it or maybe something with Atlantis, it has many cool stories.

Tails would be more like Hephaestos, the god of blacksmiths and fire, since Tails makes a lot of things out of metal.
Eggman would be like Zeus, since their both like “Mr. Hey-you-get-offa-my-cloud”.
I personally say that Knuckles should be Theseus, a friend of Hercules, and slayer of the Minotaur.
Sonic would unwillingly take the role of Hercules.
I would have like to see a Western setting, the book, The Good The Bad The Ugly!!
Maybe Sonic in a Greek setting if he was chucked into a Jason and the Argonauts situation.
