Sonic Team leader Yuji Naka was at the E3 conference this week showing off Phantasy Star Online on the Nintendo Gamecube, and he mentioned that developing for the console has been a breeze so far.
“The Gamecube is making our job easier,” Naka said of porting the Dreamcast original’s code to Nintendo’s purple box. “It took us only a month to make Phantasy Star Online Version 2 for the console.”
With Sonic Adventure 2 also tipped to be heading to the console, it seems that there’s more to Sonic Team’s relationship with Nintendo than meets the eye. Perhaps more ports are possible in the future?
