Phantasy Star Online ‘Fan Cup’ Kicks Off in Japan

Think you’re pretty good at hunting as a HUmar? Rampaging as a RAcast? Force-casting as a FOnewm? Erm… anyway, if you’re good at Phantasy Star Online and live in Japan, then you might want to pay attention to a cool event that SEGA is holding with Famitsu as you could win some serious cash.

The ‘PSO Fan Cup’ will offer players a special online quest to complete, and the team who can clear the course in the fastest time will win a prize pot of 1,500,000 yen. That’s about $1,500 US Dollars! Winners will also get an ‘A Class’ Hunter license, and a rare one-of-a-kind item.

It’s not known yet whether this contest will be open to US or UK players, but registration is free so if you can read enough Japanese to complete the official sign-up form then it’s worth a shot isn’t it? The event will start on March 23 and end on April 6.
